Anti-wrinkle injections or wrinkle relaxation treatments are one of the most popular services we offer. We use a careful amount of botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox) and inject it into the facial muscles to soften lines and wrinkles over the whole of your face, or just in your problem areas. It works by blocking signals from the nerves to your muscles, so that the injected muscle can’t contract, relaxing the face and smoothing wrinkles. Popular areas for BooTox are in between the eyes, the forehead, the temples (for crow’s feet) and to treat smile lines. It’s not permanent and usually lasts around 3-4 months. The results and longevity you see from BooTox will depend on your lifestyle, body chemistry and aftercare, all of which will be discussed with you before treatment.

Generally, there are little to no side effects of BooTox long-term. Immediately after the treatment, you might experience some swelling and redness which will subside after a few hours, and possibly some bruising which will dissipate after a few days and can be treated with Arnica gel or Vitamin K Oxide cream. You might also get a mild headache, which can be treated with painkillers.

You should remain upright for 2 hours after your treatment, and use the muscles that have been treated more than normal in the first hour. Do not lie down or bend forward for 6 hours after treatment, as this will affect your results. Avoid applying makeup for around 6 hours unless it’s a mineral-based product. You should avoid any form of massage or electrical stimulation on your face for the next 2 weeks to allow the BooTox time to work effectively. When cleansing the treated area, avoid using a lot of pressure and instead use gentle strokes away from the centre of your face. Don’t wear any tight garments or hats on the injected area, and avoid alcohol, exposure to UV and extreme heat for at least 48 hours after treatment. This includes: Saunas, Steam, ,Sunbeds, Very hot showers and Strenuous exercise. As these will all increase your discomfort and make any swelling worse. If you follow your aftercare, you should see good results from your treatment.

Dermal fillers are done by injecting a specially developed solution underneath the skin using a fine needle. This solution is formulated from hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring acid that can bind up to 1000 times its own weight in water! It transforms into a gel once injected and plumps and fills lines and sunken areas in your skin while aiding in nutrient flow to your skin. They’re perfect for smoothing deep lines and wrinkles, grooves or fine lines.

The good news is you should see the effects of the dermal fillers right away! Although dermal fillers can cause some swelling, so you might not see the full results until this has gone down. Once healed, your fillers should last between 6-9 months for Juvederm Ultra, or 12-18 months for Radiesse and Juvederm Voluma treatments. It’s important to bear in mind that as soon as the products go into your body they start to break down. Your metabolic rate and lifestyle will therefore have a big impact on how long your fillers will last. This will be discussed with you during your consultation so that you have a realistic idea of the filler lifespan in your skin before treatment.

Try to avoid touching the treated area for at least 6 hours, and don’t use any makeup during that 6 hours unless it’s mineral based. Avoid exposure to UV and extreme heat (including saunas, steam, sun beds and hot showers) for 48 hours after treatment as this can make any swelling or discomfort worse. You should also avoid any extreme cold, especially if applied directly to the skin. If needed a cool compress (NOT ice pack) can be applied to reduce any swelling or discomfort, but ensure it isn’t overly cold. If you’ve had a local nerve infiltration injection, don’t consume any hot or cold drinks until you’ve regained normal feeling in the area, and be careful when eating to avoid biting your lip. Avoid any facial massages or skin resurfacing until you are fully healed, and if you experience any lumps in the implantation area gently massage the to smooth them out.

The RF (radiofrequency) energy heats the underlying layers of skin, causing constriction and tightening of the skin, as well as the stimulation of collagen and elastin production. As the RF energy is delivered so deeply, it can produce faster results that are more dramatic.

Each session of fat dissolving using the Aqualyx system will take between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Typically you will need around 3 sessions for smaller areas or up to 8 for larger areas to see the full results, but some people do see a difference after just 1-3 treatments.
